Panel #2
Exploring new ways to explain the importance of the 7th tradition to the fellowship. Our classic way of explaining is not working so well, what do we need to change up. At1.3 million members in AA, Individual members is where we need to put our energy.
New opportunities to share the7th tradition. What is the price on the gift of sobriety? Approach our GSR's to talk about what the 7th tradition goes towards. Braille BB cost $94 and are sold for $9.95
Anne tells story of all the translations of the information that GSO carries at a loss. Self-supporting so we are not controlled by outside influences. Personal relationships can influence the donations. Application of 7th tradition in sponsorship getting sponsees to bring cash to meetings. Sending 7th tradition I-phone with square so people can give electronically. We need to tell our sponsee so they can make an "Informed contribution"
Carol E. –
Area inventory – whom does it benefit - it is a fact finding venture.
Benefits an inventory - area inventories show the health of the area. Some do it every year bi annually some randomly. Usually have a set of questions from the Guidelines. They can be answered one at a time over time or all at once. Platform for A.A. to grow by taking stock of the area, communication of information to GSO, better serving all groups, GSR’s, DCM’s and districts. Helps the area serve its members better. Benefits the group by keeping them informed. This energizes the Districts, allowing them to share their information to area. Information helps to keep committees-area and District - in sync and supporting each other. it keeps our area healthy
Michaell S.
Home group inventories who do the benefit? Fulfilling the primary purpose of the group. Answers in the pamphlet -The A.A. group where it all began. The process helps members become more a part of the group. Setting format and functions of the group and as a whole. What are we doing to carry the message and emphasis the things group are doing successfully and not so .Carrying the message to the alcoholic who still suffers
Glen S.
Orgazational inventories - to provide with a unified order, list of goods. GSO approved a plan to take an inventory will ask 12 questions per year for the next three years. Oregon area wil be asking inventory questions over the next years. Select a list of questions to ask at the district inventory. Where it all begins pamphlet has 13 questions to look at. Taking a look at ourselves and finding our plusses and minuses of the group and Districtor area. Helps to keep things and issues flowing in an organized direction.

How does the dollar keep me sober? Financial problems almost killed us, a dollar helps the A.A. program run. Money in basket -Why? Money into the basket is a recommitment to sobriety. The money helps all aspects of a A.A., hotline , literature, meetings.* Helps to measure how much we invest in recovery.
Ed H.
Where do spirituality and money mix - lifeblood of alcoholics is an investment of time and money. AA in action requires a lot of time and a little money. Money is a tricky thing, ego still exists. $6.32 a year from each member would support A.A. totally, we do not send in that much support. Contributing to a meeting voluntarily keeps the doors open, buys coffee, pays rent, at District it helps committees. Donations keep the doors of A.A. open.
Jeff S.
How do you tell the newcomer where their dollar goes - Chaired finance committee. Fear is a big issue in talking about money issues, share what money is used for and why. Carrying the self support messsage to the meetings, perhaps 3 dollars for the 3 legacies. Money should not be an issue to going to a meeting.
The birthday plan for 10 year olds in the program would cover all of A.A.
Panel #4

Is technology crowding out aa's meeting in print. Technology helps inform quickly. Thehard copy of the grapevine will always be available. Prisons and newcomers will always need them. Meeting in print, written not spoken. Technology has given us another tool to work with. The grapevine will tell their story in to a grapevine mailbox. The internet allows the grapevine to be distributed to reading aps. The Grapevine is being proactive by getting it onto the web. The daily quote is brand new and available for free. so to is the audio project. Technology is not crowding out the grapevine but is helping it be shared
Jesus –
the future of LaVina - Depends on the Hispanic community up to the individual and sharing what it is. Donating copies of the LaVina to the Hispanic community. LaVina will continue to grow with support. Information needs to be shared.

Delores B. –
Taking your inventory, how to avoid service burnout. AA is a giving program, it is recommended that alcoholics do service work and give back to AA. Burn out on service work, inventory questions, stressful situations in A.A. and inventory towards my deficiencies in A.A. Inventory questions - motive, recognition or approval or to give back to A.A. , accepting our abilities. Expectations - accepting will make mistakes or do we try to do it perfect, being humble and doing Gods will. S-23, fear - touches every aspect of our lives, pg68 we trust god and leave it to him. Inventory questions can stem from pride. Ego, and lack of faith. Get a service sponsor, pick one day a week and give yourself a rest day, ask for help, ask questions and let other people help you. Keep a written or electronic calendar. Service work is a privilege. Practice faith. * Continue to check our motives.
